Sonali Bendre, Fighting With Cancer In New York, Gets A Visitor – Akshay Kumar
In a moving post on Twitter account Sonali Bendre says, “Sometimes when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have been recently clinically determined to have a high-grade cancer that has metastised, which we honestly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which resulted in this unexpected diagnosis. My close friends and family members are around me, providing the best support system anyone can ask for.
There is not a better way to tackle this, than to take fast and immediate action. Therefore, as advised by my doctors, I am presently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain hopeful and I am determined to fight every step of the way. I receive immense outpouring of love and support over the past couple of days, for which I am very grateful. I am taking this battle mind on knowing, I have the strength of my family and friends are backing for me.
Sonali is currently a judge on the children’s reality show, “India’s Best Dramebaaz”, hosted by Shantanu Maheshwari and Vighnesh Pande.
The 43-year-old actress’s former co-star Akshay Kumar, who was on holiday in the Big Apple, goes to meet Ms Bendre.
Akshay said in an interview: “I know that Sonali is a fighter. May The almighty help her to bring her back again in the best of health”. Akshay Kumar and Sonali Bendre co-starred in several films in the Eighties and Nineties such as Angaaray, Keemat, Tarazu and Sapoot. Bendre’s last film performances was also with Akshay Kumar in the 2013 film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai
Since the actor announce the news on her official twitter handles, Massage of best wishes for her for quick recovery started pouring in from friends, fans and colleagues.
Manish Malhotra left a comment on her Instagram post and wrote, “Wishes and strength and love with you Sonali.

Vivek Oberoi is co-judged in India’s Best Dramebaaz with Sonali took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “You are one of the strongest women I know! I admire & respect you to how you always stood your ground in the face of trouble… and won! A Wonder Woman who is an actress, author, mom, wife! And An inspiration to so many! Cancer will surely lose this fight! Our Love & Prayers are with you always! ”
